What is Combodart?
Combodart is used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BHP), the non-cancerous growth of the prostate gland in men. These capsules combine two different drugs, i.e., tamsulosin, an alpha-blocker, and dutasteride a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor. Both of these drugs combine to reduce the hyperplastic prostate gland and lessen acute urinary retention.
How does it work?
Tamsulosin causes the relaxation of prostate muscles. It makes it easier for you to urinate and avoid urinary retention. The dutasteride decreases the production of dihydrotestosterone hormone, which is one of the causes of BHP. Both of these drugs work simultaneously to relieve the symptoms.
