Commonly Used Dosage Guidelines for Gaviscon Infant Sachets.
Depending on how you feed your child (bottle-fed or breastfed), your child will take the medicine differently:
- For bottle-fed infants, mix a sachet into 115ml (4 fluid oz) of milk in the bottle, make sure to shake the bottle well, then feed as per normal.
- For breastfed infants (of 2 or younger), mix the sachet with 5ml (1 teaspoon) of cool boiled water to create a paste. Add a further 10ml (2 teaspoons) of water and then mix. If your child is breastfed feed them the solution during feeding or during a meal using a spoon or bottle. For all other infants, give them the mixture at the end of each meal using a spoon or bottle
Do not give more than 6 times in any 24-hour period. Do not use it for more than 7 days without speaking to your doctor.
