Male Fertility Test

1. Using masturbation, collect the semen directly into the sperm collection cup. 

2. Ensure that care is taken to not contaminate the sample through touch from hands, tissues or other materials. 

3. Shake the semen sample evenly in the collection cup and leave it to stand for 1 hour at room temperature until the semen has liquified. Do not test semen that has been stored for more than 12 hours. 

The results should be read 5 minutes after dispensing the specimen. Do not read the results after 10 minutes have elapsed. 

A NORMAL reading will show as two coloured lines. One of these coloured lines should be in the control line region (C), and the other coloured line should be in the test line region (T)*. 

*Note: The intensity of the colour in the test line region (T) will vary depending on the concentration of SP-10 protein present in the specimen. Therefore, any shade of colour in the test line region (T) should be considered normal. 

An ABNORMAL reading will show if a line has only appeared in the control line region (C) and no line in the test line region (T). 

An INVALID reading is if the control line (C) fails to appear. This may be due to an insufficient specimen volume or an incorrect procedural technique. Ensure that you review the procedure and repeat the test with a new test. If the problem persists, discontinue using the test kit immediately and contact our help team.
