Description

What is Malarone?

Malarone is a treatment to protect against malaria. It is new and popular due to it being taken daily, before, during and after your trip to high-risk malaria areas.

How does it work?

Malaria is a parasite spread by animals and humans carried by mosquitos. When the parasite infects the bloodstream it will reproduce and cause illness. The Malarone tablet ensures the parasite cannot reproduce.

Is Malarone suitable for me?

Malaria is not suitable for use if you have an allergy to any of the medications, have a severe kidney disease or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

What are the differences between Malarone and Doxycycline?

Malarone and doxycycline are both antimalarial medications. They are similar in that they are both used to prevent and treat malaria. However, there are some important differences between the two drugs. Malarone is generally considered to be more effective than doxycycline, but it is also more expensive. Doxycycline may be a better option for people who are travelling to areas where malaria is resistant to Malarone. Both drugs can cause side effects, such as headache, nausea, and diarrhoea.

Is Malarone taken daily?

Malarone is usually taken once a day, with or without food. If you take it with food, you may be less likely to experience an upset stomach. If you have trouble swallowing pills, ask your doctor about the liquid form of Malarone.

How do I order my medication?

Some products only require an online consultation which approximately takes 1 minute to complete, enabling you to then buy the product. Other products will also require a prescription; in this case, you will need to complete the online consultation, and then one of our partner pharmacy prescribers or doctors will review the online consultation questions and approve the order for delivery if you are eligible to purchase the item.

Can I cancel or return my order?

For non-medicinal products, you are eligible to return the product within 14 days of receipt in the same packaging you received. For medicinal products, you are eligible to cancel the order only until it has been dispatched. From that point forward, you are no longer eligible to return the order.

You have the right to cancel your order for medication up to the point when your medication is dispatched.
