Oxistat is used to treat ringworm, jock itch, and athlete's foot.

The fungus that causes athlete's foot typically starts between the toes. A fungal infection known as jock itch affects the skin in the groin area. A fungus called ringworm can infect any part of the body.

Side Effects

Most people are generally thought to be safe using oxistat topical cream. The following are examples of mild side effects:

Dosage

Three strengths of topical Oxistat cream are offered: 1%, 2%, and 3%. The typical adult dosage is to apply the cream twice or three times per day for two weeks to the affected area.

The cream should be applied on the soles of the feet and in between the toes to treat athletes foot. The groin region should be treated with the cream if you have jock itch. The cream should be applied to all rashes-affected skin areas to treat ringworm.

Keep your feet dry and clean, and wear sandals or other open-toed footwear whenever you can to avoid reinfection. Clothing should be washed in hot water and dried in a hot dryer, including socks and underwear.

Mechanism of Action

Athlete's foot, jock itch, and ringworm are all fungal infections that are eliminated by the topical cream Oxistat. It accomplishes this by limiting the fungi's ability to develop and proliferate.

Interactions
