What is Spasmonal Forte?

Spasmonal Forte is a medication used for the treatment of Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Painful Diverticular Disease. Irritable Bowel Syndrome is a disease that affects the functioning of the digestive system. Symptoms of this disease are diarrhoea, constipation, feeling bloated, and loss of slight control over the excretory system. 

How does it work?

Spasmonal Forte contains the active ingredient alverine citrate, which is anti-spasmodic in nature. It works by relaxing the muscles in the intestine and uterus. This decreases pain when muscles contract in the gut and the womb.

Is Spasmonal Forte right for me?

If you are suffering from Irritable Bowel Syndrome, period pain or painful diverticular disease of the colon, then Spasmonal Forte can alleviate symptoms. 

Dosage

Commonly Used Dosage Guidelines for Spasmonal Forte

Spasmonal Forte (alverine) 120mg: 1 capsule 1-3 times daily, preferably 20 minutes before meals.

Side Effects

All medications can cause potential side effects, below we have listed some of the commonly reported side effects:

  • Headache
  • Dizziness
  • Feeling sick
  • Itching or Rashes
  • Jaundice due to liver inflammation
