Additional Information

Spiolto Respimat is a once-daily maintenance treatment that helps open up your airways and makes breathing easier. It is available in the form of an inhaler.

If you have COPD, you may experience symptoms such as shortness of breath, wheezing, and chest tightness. These symptoms can make everyday activities difficult. Spiolto Respimat can help to relieve these symptoms so that you can live your life more easily.

Spiolto Respimat works by blocking receptors called muscarinic acetylcholine receptors (mAChRs). These receptors can become activated when you have COPD, which causes your airways to tighten and close. By blocking these receptors, Spiolto Respimat helps prevent this from happening, making it easier for you to breathe.

Together with other treatments such as bronchodilators that open up your airways quickly (short-acting), Spiolto Respimat provides a full 24 hours of relief from symptoms of COPD such as shortness of breath, wheezing and coughing.

You should not use Spiolto Respimat if you are allergic to tiotropium or ipratropium (Atrovent). To make sure Spiolto Respimat is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have ever had: heart disease, high blood pressure; a seizure disorder; narrow-angle glaucoma; an enlarged prostate; problems with urination; or depression.

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. You should not breastfeed while using Spiolto Respimat.

To make sure this medicine is safe for you, tell your doctor about all of your medical conditions.

Get emergency medical help if you have any signs of an allergic reaction to Spiolto Respimat: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Do not use more than one inhalation every 24 hours.
