The Active Ingredient Is: Silica (Amorphous Silicon Dioxide)

Silica, in the form of amorphous silicon dioxide, is a natural mineral essential to connective tissues and everyday bodily functions.

This product uses freshwater diatomaceous earth as its source, delivering ground fossilised diatoms that supply silica without added fillers or excipients.

What Does Silica Do?

Silica plays a role in everyday bodily processes as part of the silica intake that passes through the gastrointestinal tract with limited absorption.

Research suggests that some silica may convert to a bioavailable form called orthosilicic acid, though absorption is relatively low; diatom shells can act as a gentle internal sponge, but evidence for detoxification or pathogen removal in humans isn't established, in line with EFSA considerations.

Dr. Johnson of University College London found that silica is not significantly absorbed in the GI tract, supporting its role as a trace element rather than a primary nutrient.

This supplement contains a single, pure ingredient and aligns with guidance on normal physiological functions without asserting disease-related outcomes.
