Side Effects

The most typical Effient side effects include:

For those with coronary artery disease, Effient 10 mg once daily is advised. Aspirin should be taken along with Effient.

Take Effient as soon as you remember if you miss a dose. Skip the missed dose and carry on with your regular schedule if it is almost time for your next dose. Never take two Effient doses at the same time.

How does Effient work?

The way that Effient functions is by preventing blood clots from forming when blood cells stick together. By inhibiting a protein known as glycoprotein IIb/IIIa, effient achieves this. The blood cells' ability to adhere to one another depends on this protein. By blocking this protein, Effient stops the blood cells from clotting.

In patients with coronary artery disease, effient is used to treat and prevent blood clots. Aspirin is taken along with effient. Effient should not be used exclusively.
