This main component reads as: Xylitol

Xylitol is a sugar alcohol used in toothpaste formulations for its pleasant sweetness without causing tooth decay. It helps oral health by taking part in everyday saliva and enamel routines. This ingredient is incorporated in a form commonly found in toothpaste formulations to provide gentle cavity-protective action and to aid in maintaining a balanced oral environment.

So what does Xylitol actually do?

Xylitol helps reduce cavity-causing bacteria and supports enamel protection by neutralising acids, a mechanism supported by clinical research. Dr. Mäkinen of the University of Helsinki found that xylitol-containing products are associated with a reduced caries risk in children. In addition, this ingredient contributes to maintaining overall oral hygiene by supporting a balanced oral microbiota, aligning with general dental guidance on sugar substitutes and enamel health. This supplement is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
