Primer

The primary function of primer is to improve the texture of the skin’s surface, allowing makeup to adhere better and last longer. It minimises imperfections like fine lines, uneven skin texture, and enlarged pores. Some primers also help control shine, protect the skin from environmental damage, and even out skin tone.

Primers typically contain ingredients like silicones, which create a smooth surface, and moisturisers that hydrate the skin. Many primers include additional active ingredients such as antioxidants, vitamins, SPF, or mattifying agents, depending on their specific purpose. Some are formulated for particular skin types, using ingredients to address dryness, oiliness, or sensitivity.
