Swallow the tablets whole; do not chew or break them. Tea, coffee, eggs, and milk may decrease iron absorption, so avoid consuming these when taking Ferrograd C tablets.

This medication may cause stools to appear black or darker, which is normal and not harmful. It contains iron and should be kept out of children's reach, as an iron overdose can be fatal for them. This medication may cause a false negative result in the clinistix test for urine sugar and may interfere with tests for occult blood in stools. Do not use this medication if you have vitamin B12 deficiency anemia, folic acid deficiency anemia, haemochromatosis, haemosiderosis, paroxysmal nocturnal haemoglobinuria, sickle cell anemia, thalassemia, are receiving repeated blood transfusions, have an active peptic ulcer, inflammatory bowel disease, or are under 12 years old. Avoid use if allergic to any ingredients. If an allergic reaction occurs, stop using it and contact your doctor or pharmacist immediately.
