Fill the clean bottle with the specified amount of lukewarm distilled, filtered, or previously boiled water. You can warm the water in the microwave in 5 to 10-second intervals to prevent overheating, device damage, or nasal passage burns. Open the sinus rinse packet and pour the contents into the bottle. Securely fasten the cap and tube. Cover the cap tip with one finger and gently shake the bottle to mix. Stand over a sink, lean forward comfortably, and tilt your head down. Keep your mouth open and breathe normally. Place the cap against your nasal passage and gently squeeze the bottle until the solution flows out of the other nostril. Some solution may exit through your mouth. Continue squeezing gently until at least 1/4 to 1/2 of the bottle is used. Do not swallow the solution. Gently blow your nose without fully pinching it to avoid ear pressure. If comfortable, gently sniff any remaining solution in the nasal passage once or twice to clean the back area of your nasal passage. If the solution reaches your throat, spit it out. To remove any leftover solution, gently blow your nose while tilting your head forward and to the opposite side of the rinsed nasal passage. Clean the bottle and cap, and let the bottle, cap, and tube air dry on a clean paper towel.
