Ensure your hands are clean. Fill the clear blue reservoir with 240ml (8 fl oz) of distilled, microfiltered (0.2 micron), commercially bottled, or previously boiled and cooled water at a lukewarm or body temperature. Avoid using tap or faucet water unless it has been boiled and cooled. Open the Sinus Rinse mixture packet and pour it into the blue reservoir of the Sinugator. Attach the white motor unit to the blue reservoir and twist until secure. Shake the unit to dissolve the mixture. Stand over a sink, lean forward comfortably, and tilt your head down. Keep your mouth open and breathe normally. Place the tip securely against your right nostril. Press the blue power button until the solution flows out of your left nostril. If any solution enters your mouth, spit it out, though swallowing it is not harmful. For an effective rinse, continue pressing the power button until 60ml to 120ml (2 to 4 fl oz) of the solution is used for one nostril. Stop if you experience discomfort, pain, or pressure. Gently blow your nose without fully pinching it to prevent pressure on your eardrums. If possible, gently sniff in any remaining solution in the nasal passage once or twice to help clear the posterior nasopharyngeal area. Repeat the process for your left nostril.
