The Active Ingredient Is: Protease (Plant-Derived Enzyme)

Protease refers to a family of digestive enzymes that break down proteins in the digestive tract. This form is plant-derived and functions as part of a broad enzyme blend to support everyday digestive processes.

Protease is taken from plant-based enzyme preparations and contributes to the breakdown of dietary protein in the gut, aligning with vegetarian/vegan product characteristics.

What Does Protease Do?

Protease helps support protein digestion, assisting normal absorption of amino acids and peptides. This mechanism aligns with EFSA and NHS guidance on the role of digestive enzymes in healthy digestion.

In the context of a multi-enzyme blend, protease works with other enzymes to help in the overall breakdown of fats, carbohydrates, and dairy sugars, contributing to digestive comfort as reported in clinical contexts. Dr. Advani of the University found evidence supporting improved digestion with enzyme blends.
