Wat is Calpol Infant Sachets suikervrij?

CALPOL-suikervrije zakjes voor kinderen zorgen voor kinderen met pijn en koortsverlichting. Het werkt snel, in slechts 15 minuten, en is zachtaardig voor gevoelige magen. Het is zacht genoeg om te gebruiken vanaf de leeftijd van twee maanden.

De doos bevat 12 x 5 ml zakjes die onderweg kunnen worden gebruikt om uw kind te helpen wanneer ze het het meest nodig hebben. Het vermindert koorts in slechts 15 minuten terwijl het zacht blijft voor de gevoelige buikjes van kinderen. Het behandelt koorts, koude en griepsymptomen, kinderziektes, hoofdpijn, kiespijn, oorpijn, keelpijn en andere pijnen en pijn.

Calpol kan worden gebruikt om de volgende aandoeningen te behandelen:

• Milde tot matige pijnverlichting, zoals tandpijn, hoofdpijn of keelpijn.
• Verlagen van ongemak veroorzaakt door koorts of pijn geassocieerd met verkoudheid en griep.

Paracetamol 120 mg per 5 ml, Sucrose, sorbitol liquid (E420), glycerol, polysor bate 80, asulfame potassium, methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218), propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216), ethyl parahydroxybenzoate (E214), dispersible cellulose, xanthan gum and purified water.The flavouring is strawberry and colouring is car moisine (E122).  Each 5 ml sachet of this product contains 2.2 g of sucrose.

For oral administration only. Ensure you massage the sachet before use. Use only the spoon provided in the package. Avoid overfilling the spoon. Follow the dosage instructions on the label carefully. Consult a doctor if your child's condition does not improve.

For children aged 2-3 months: Administer 2.5 ml using the small end of the spoon. If needed, a second 2.5 ml dose can be given after 4-6 hours. Do not administer to infants under 2 months old. Only administer if the baby weighs over 4 kg and was born after 37 weeks. Maintain a minimum 4-hour interval between doses. Do not exceed 2 doses. This is to ensure prompt diagnosis of any serious infection causing fever. If fever persists after two doses, consult a doctor or pharmacist.

For children aged 3 months to 6 years:
- 3-6 months: Administer one 2.5 ml spoonful (small end) up to 4 times in 24 hours.
- 6-24 months: Administer one 5 ml spoonful (large end) up to 4 times in 24 hours.
- 2-4 years: Administer one 5 ml spoonful (large end) and one 2.5 ml spoonful (small end) up to 4 times in 24 hours.
- 4-6 years: Administer two 5 ml spoonfuls (large end) up to 4 times in 24 hours.

Do not exceed 4 doses within any 24-hour period. Maintain at least a 4-hour gap between doses. Do not administer this medicine for more than 3 days without consulting a doctor or pharmacist. This product is designed for children aged 2 months to 6 years. For fever relief after vaccinations at 2, 3, and 4 months, refer to the leaflet in the box. This medication is generally safe for most individuals, but some should avoid it. If unsure, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Do not give this medicine to your child if they have had an adverse reaction to any ingredients, are taking other medications containing paracetamol, weigh less than 4 kg, or were born prematurely (before 37 weeks). If any of these conditions apply, seek advice from a doctor or pharmacist before using Calpol. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if your child has severe kidney or liver issues, an inherited fructose intolerance, or an intolerance to certain sugars. Also, consult if your child is taking other medications such as metoclopramide, domperidone, colestyramine, anticoagulants, or anticonvulsants. If unsure about your child's medication, show the bottle or package to your pharmacist. If any of these points apply, consult a doctor or pharmacist. Additional warnings for adults: You can use this medicine with oral contraceptives, but it may be less effective for pain or fever. High alcohol consumption may increase paracetamol side effects. Seek advice from a doctor or pharmacist before use if pregnant or breastfeeding. Some ingredients may cause issues: Methyl (E218), propyl (E216), and ethyl (E214) parahydroxybenzoate may cause delayed allergic reactions. The sucrose and sorbitol (E420) content makes it unsuitable for those with inherited fructose intolerance. This product contains 2.2 g of sucrose per 5 ml, which should be considered for patients with diabetes. Carmoisine (E122) may cause allergic reactions. Ask a pharmacist for a suitable alternative. Consult your doctor if your baby requires more than the recommended doses or if the fever persists. If unsure of your child's illness cause or if accompanied by a rash, breathing issues, diarrhea, or excessive tiredness, consult your doctor immediately. Do not give Calpol without medical advice. Seek immediate medical advice in case of overdose, even if the child appears well, due to the risk of delayed liver damage. If a dose is missed, give the next dose when needed, ensuring at least 4 hours have passed since the last dose. Do not double the dose.
