Gaviscon Liquid Aniseed wordt gebruikt voor de volgende omstandigheden: reflux oesofagitis die bekend staat als een ontstoken voedselpijp; maagreflux die de reflux is van maaginhoud in de slokdarm; winderigheid, een accumulatie van gas in de maag of darmen; Maagzuur, inclusief brandend maagzuur tijdens de zwangerschap; en omstandigheden geassocieerd met maagreflux, waaronder hiatus hernia (wat spieruitsteek door een spierwand is); Retrosternale nood en epigastrisch.
Indigestie en brandend maagzuur kunnen worden behandeld met de oorspronkelijke formulering van Gaviscon Aniseed.

Ingrediënten
Elke 10 ml Gaviscon Aniseed Liquid bevat natriumbicarbonaat 267 mg en natriumalginaat 500 mg. De andere ingrediënten zijn calciumcarbonaat, natriumhydroxide, venkelsmaak, erythrosine, carbomer, natriumsaccharine en water. Het bevat conserveermiddelen zoals propylhydroxylbenzoaat 0,06% m/v en methylhydroxylbenzoaat 0,4% m/v. Het bevat ook zoetstof, saccharine natrium 0,100% m/v.
