Setting Up the Inhalator:

1. Remove the sealed plastic tray from the box.
2. Peel back the foil.
3. Take the plastic mouthpiece from the tray.
4. Align the two marks on the mouthpiece and twist the sections until they line up, then pull them apart.
5. Take a cartridge from the tray and push it firmly into the bottom of the mouthpiece until the seal breaks.
6. Attach the top section of the mouthpiece, aligning the two marks, and push together firmly to break the cartridge seal. Twist to lock.

Using the Inhalator:

- Inhale using the inhalator with either deep or shallow puffs, depending on your preference. Both methods deliver the required amount of nicotine for craving relief.
- It may require more effort than smoking a cigarette, but the nicotine absorption is the same regardless of puff depth.
- You can decide how many puffs to take, how often, and for how long.
- Each cartridge provides about 20 minutes of use, which can be divided as desired (e.g., two 10-minute sessions or one 10-minute session followed by two 5-minute sessions).
- Replace the cartridge once it is used up.

Changing a Cartridge:

1. Open the mouthpiece as described in step 3 of Setting Up the Inhalator.
2. Remove and safely dispose of the used cartridge.
3. Insert a new cartridge following steps 4-6 of Setting Up the Inhalator.

Dosage and Temperature:

- The inhalator works best at room temperature. Avoid using it in cold conditions (below 15°C or 59°F) as you may need to inhale more frequently to achieve the same nicotine level.
- In temperatures above 30°C or 86°F, inhale less often to prevent excessive nicotine intake.

When to Use the Inhalator:

- If you can stop smoking, use the inhalator as needed instead of cigarettes. Gradually reduce the number of cartridges until you stop using them completely.
- If you cannot stop smoking or are not ready to quit, replace as many cigarettes as possible with the inhalator. This can reduce exposure to harmful toxins in cigarettes.
- Use the inhalator in situations where smoking is not possible or desired, such as social events or at work.
- Behavioral therapy, advice, and support can improve the success rate of quitting.

Do not use the Nicorette Inhalator if you are allergic to nicotine or any other ingredients, or if you are under 12 years old. Consult your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, as you might be able to use nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) to quit smoking, but it's best to try quitting without it. If you are hospitalized for heart disease, using NRT is better than smoking, but consult your healthcare provider. If you have stomach or esophagus issues, liver or kidney disease, long-term throat disease, or breathing difficulties, the inhalator may not be suitable, and you might need a different NRT. If you have an overactive thyroid or a phaeochromocytoma, or if you have diabetes, monitor your blood sugar levels closely. If you are taking medications like theophylline, clozapine, or ropinirole, you may need dosage adjustments when reducing or quitting smoking. Keep unused cartridges out of children's reach, as they can be a choking hazard. If pregnant, try quitting without NRT first, but if necessary, use NRT as a safer alternative to smoking. Intermittent products like the inhalator may be preferable to patches unless you experience nausea. If breastfeeding, try quitting without NRT first, but if needed, use intermittent NRT products and breastfeed before using the inhalator to minimize nicotine exposure to the baby. If you use more cartridges than recommended, you may experience symptoms like nausea, abdominal pain, or dizziness. Seek medical help immediately if a child under 12 uses the inhalator or ingests a cartridge. Possible side effects include headache, cough, mouth or throat irritation, dizziness, nasal congestion, stomach discomfort, hiccups, nausea, vomiting, chest palpitations, and rare heart rhythm issues. Report any side effects to your healthcare provider. Mouth ulcers may occur when quitting smoking. Clean the mouthpiece regularly and keep the inhalator out of children's and animals' reach. Do not store above 30°C or use after the expiration date. Dispose of used cartridges safely, as they still contain nicotine that could be harmful if ingested by children or pets.
