Breast-fed infants: For infants under 4.5kg (10lb), administer one dose. For those over 4.5kg (10lb), administer two doses. Combine 5ml of cooled, boiled water with the powder in a glass. Stir until smooth, then add an additional 10ml of water. Administer after each feeding using a spoon or feeding bottle.

Bottle-fed infants: For infants under 4.5kg (10lb), mix one dose with at least 115ml of each bottle feed and shake well. For those over 4.5kg (10lb), mix two doses with at least 225ml of each bottle feed and shake well.

Young Children: Administer two doses, prepared in the same manner as for breast-fed infants. Administer after each meal.

Gaviscon should not be used for infants under 1 year old unless advised by a doctor. Avoid using Gaviscon Infant with other food thickeners or infant milk with thickeners. Do not exceed the recommended dose or use more than six times in 24 hours. Mannitol in the product may cause a laxative effect or diarrhoea. Each sachet is sealed for security; do not use if the seal is broken. Consult a doctor if your infant is on a low sodium diet before using this product. Store below 30°C. Possible side effects include a laxative effect and diarrhoea due to mannitol.
