Superoxide dismutase and catalase are two of the body's own antioxidant enzymes. SOD converts superoxide radicals into hydrogen peroxide and oxygen, and catalase then breaks hydrogen peroxide down into water and oxygen, so the two work in sequence. Biotics Research has used its vegetable culture technology for decades to supply these enzymes from a plant source. Neither enzyme carries an EFSA-authorised health claim, so Dismuzyme Plus is described as a source of dietary enzymes in a whole-food base.
