Blue pill (Sildenafil) for Erectile Dysfunction

Erectile dysfunction (ED) also known as impotence is the inability to achieve or maintain an erection for a duration long enough required for sexual activity. There are various causes, the most common being due to the narrowing of arteries that carry blood to the penis. Sildenafil can help to achieve an erection in the presence of sexual stimuli, it is not an aphrodisiac. 

It is a treatment for adult men available on prescription as well as over the counter in certain situations. Viagra or Sildenafil should not be used by women.

Is Sildenafil right for me?

If you suffer from erectile dysfunction (impotence) Sildenafil may be an effective treatment. However, it may not be suitable for you if you have the following:

• If you have galactose intolerance 
• If you have severe heart, liver or kidney problems
• If you have high or low blood pressure
• If you have had a stroke or heart attack in the last 6 months
• If you have Peyronie's disease or a physical deformity of the penis
• If you have sickle cell anaemia or any bleeding disorders
• If you have a rare inherited eye disease such as retinitis pigmentosa

All medications can cause potential side effects, below we have listed some potential side effects of Sildenafil. However, these do not always occur and are mostly mild in nature. But if you experience any prolonged or worrying side effects of Sildenafil, please discontinue the medication immediately and consult your doctor.

Commonly Used Dosage Guidelines for the blue pill

Initially 1 tablet approx. 1 hour before sexual activity, subsequent doses are adjusted according to response. Max. 1 dose in 24 hours.
