1. Begin by using your pet's regular brush or comb to groom and remove any tangles.
2. Position your pet over a large white sheet of paper to track the debris removed from their coat.
3. Gently comb through the fur from head to tail.
4. If you find a flea on the comb or paper, capture it with sticky tape. Check for flea droppings by wetting the paper; they will appear blood red.
5. Repeat this process every 2 to 3 days.
6. Discovering a flea on your pet suggests there are likely more adults, eggs, and larvae in their fur and around your home. Fleas are linked to intestinal worms, so worm treatment may be necessary.
