Product Description

Lovima is a contraception pill that only contains progestogens and works to prevent pregnancy. It can be up to 99% effective when used correctly. Every tablet of Lovima contains 75 micrograms of desogestrel, a type of progestogen. This type of birth control is also known as a progestogen-only pill (POP), and you may be more familiar with it as the'mini pill'.

Desogestrel, which was previously only available on prescription, is the active ingredient in Lovima. This desogestrel contraceptive pill works to prevent pregnancy by preventing the release of an egg, also known as ovulation. Desogestrel also thickens cervical mucus, making it more difficult for sperm to travel to the uterus.

Ingredients:
The active substance is Desogestrel (75 microgram).

The other ingredients are: Lactose Monohydrate, Povidone K30 (E1201), Maize Starch, d-α-Tocopherol (E307), Silica, Colloidal Hydrated (E551), Colloidal Anhydrous (E551), Soybean Oil, Stearic Acid (E570), Hypromellose 2910 (E464), Titanium Dioxide (E171), Polyethylene Glycol.

How to take

Avoid using Lovima if you are pregnant or suspect you might be. Consult your pharmacist if you are uncertain. Take one tablet daily at the same time to maintain a 24-hour interval between doses. Start the first tablet on the first day of your period. Continue taking one tablet each day, regardless of any bleeding. Begin a new blister pack immediately after finishing the previous one. The blister strip shows the days of the week and arrows to guide the order of taking the pills. Each tablet corresponds to a day. When starting a new Lovima pack, take a tablet from the top row. Do not start with any random tablet. For instance, if you begin on a Wednesday, take the tablet marked 'WED' from the top row. Your initial use of Lovima depends on prior contraceptive use or recent pregnancy. Additional contraception may be needed for the first 7 days. If you miss a dose: If less than 12 hours late, take the missed tablet immediately and the next one at the usual time. Lovima will still be effective. If more than 12 hours late, your protection may be reduced. The more tablets missed, the higher the risk of pregnancy. Take a missed tablet as soon as possible and the next one at the usual time, which may mean taking two in one day. This is safe. Continue taking tablets as usual, but use additional barrier contraception (e.g., condom) for the next 7 days. If you are more than 12 hours late and have had sex, seek advice from your pharmacist.

Welzo is not liable for allergen information. Always follow the directions/ingredients on the product packaging to ensure proper use.

Warnings

Do not use Lovima if you are pregnant or suspect you might be. Consult your pharmacist if you are uncertain. Before using Lovima, speak with your pharmacist, doctor, or family planning nurse if you have had cancer influenced by progestogen hormones, such as certain breast, ovarian, or uterine cancers; if you have experienced a blood clot in the legs or lungs; if you have liver cancer or other liver issues; if you have high blood pressure; if you have diabetes; if you have epilepsy; if you have tuberculosis; or if you have had chloasma. If any of these conditions apply, you might still be able to use Lovima, but your doctor may want to monitor you periodically. Women taking Lovima may experience changes in their bleeding patterns, such as less frequent bleeding, no bleeding, or more frequent bleeding. These patterns may stabilize over time. A change in bleeding pattern is generally not a concern if you are taking the pill as instructed. Keep this medication out of children's reach and sight.

It's important to choose a pharmacy that offers a reminder system for medication refills. It can be easy to forget when a medication is due to be refilled.
