Step 1: Wash your hands. Fill the clean bottle with the specified amount of warm distilled, filtered, or previously boiled water. You can warm the water in a microwave, but do so in five-second intervals to prevent overheating, which could damage the device or cause nasal burns.

Step 2: Open the SINUS RINSE packet and pour the contents into the bottle. Securely attach the cap and tube, cover the cap tip with a finger, and shake the bottle gently to mix.

Step 3: Stand over a sink, lean forward comfortably, and tilt your head down. With your mouth open and not holding your breath, press the cap against your nasal passage and gently squeeze the bottle until the solution drains from the opposite nostril or mouth. Continue squeezing gently until 1/4 to 1/2 of the bottle (60 to 120 mL) is used. Do not swallow the solution.

Step 4: Gently blow your nose without fully pinching it to avoid ear pressure. If possible, sniff in any remaining solution in the nasal passage once or twice before blowing your nose to clean the back of the nasal passage. Spit out any solution that reaches the throat. To aid drainage, gently blow your nose while tilting your head to the opposite side of the rinsed nasal passage.

Step 5: Repeat steps 3 and 4 for the other nasal passage.

Step 6: Allow the Sinus Rinse bottle, cap, and tube to air dry on a clean paper towel, glass plate, or use NeilMed's NasaDock (sold separately) for storage. Discard any leftover solution and prepare a fresh one for each rinse. Rinse once or twice daily, or as advised by your doctor.

Do not use if your nasal passage is fully blocked or if you have an ear infection or blocked ears. If you have had ear surgery, consult your doctor before using. If you feel pressure in your ears, stop and seek advice from your doctor or contact our office during business hours. To prevent ear discomfort: Warm the solution to lukewarm, avoid hot, boiling, or cold water. Keep your mouth open. Do not hold your breath and, if possible, make the sound KHA...KHA... Follow the position shown. Gently squeeze 1/4 of the bottle at a time (60mL / 2 ounces). Stop if you feel any sensation near the ears. You may use with a partially blocked nasal passage.
