Vaseline Petroleum Jelly is a blend of mineral oils, paraffin, and microcrystalline waxes that, when combined, produce a remarkable result: a smooth jelly with a melting point just above body temperature. As a result, it literally melts into skin, flowing into cell spaces and gaps in our lipid barrier.

Vaseline petroleum jelly serves two purposes: first, it keeps the outside world out by protecting the skin from the effects of weather and exposure. Second, it acts as a sealant, keeping the inside world in by forming an occlusive barrier to our skin's natural water loss. As a result, dry and chapped skin is protected from drying elements, allowing skin-softening moisture to accumulate naturally from within the skin itself.
