What is Gripe Water?

Gripe water is a product that works to relieve pain caused by gripe and abdominal pain in infants. This product is an antacid and antiflatulent that may have a mild laxative effect.

How does it work?

Gripe water contains oil from the dill herb, which warms and relaxes the stomach and allows for the breakdown of trapped air bubbles. Gripe water also contains sodium hydrogen carbonate, which can neutralise the acid in the infant's stomach to relieve the pain.

Is Gripe Water suitable for me?

Gripe water can be used by infants aged over one-month-old. It should not be given to infants with an impaired kidney or a hypersensitivity to the preservatives E215, E217, snd E219.
