When the ready symbol appears, the thermometer is ready. For accurate readings, if right-handed, use the right hand and ear; if left-handed, use the left. Perform an ear tug to straighten the ear canal for a clear view of the eardrum. For children under 1 year, pull the ear straight back; for those 1 year and older, pull up and back. Use your free hand to grasp the outer ear. To take your own temperature, wrap your free hand around your head and grab your ear from behind. While tugging, insert the probe snugly into the ear canal and press the activation button, releasing it upon hearing a beep. This confirms the measurement is complete. Remove the thermometer and the LCD will display the temperature. Replace the lens filter after each use by pressing the ejector button and attaching a new one. A new measurement can be taken if the ready symbol is displayed. The thermometer will turn off automatically if no button is pressed within 2 minutes.
