Sudafed Sinus Pressure & Pain Tablets can help you provide relief from the painful, unpleasant symptoms of sinus congestion. These tablets provide pain relief and reduce inflammation, as well as fight the fever, headaches, and discomfort that often accompany sinus congestion.

How does it work?

  • What is a Sudafed Sinus Pressure & Pain Tablets contain active ingredients Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride as well as Ibuprofen.
  • Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride helps to provide highly effective relief for nose and sinus congestion. The decongestant gets to work by helping to narrow the swollen blood vessels in the nose, as well as air to flow more freely and helping mucus.
  • While Ibuprofen, which is a painkiller and anti-inflammatory, provides relief from headaches, pain, and inflammation.

Directions:

Adults and adolescents from 15 years and over:

Take ONE or TWO tablets every 4 to 6 hours when necessary.  DO NOT take more than 6 tablets in a 24 hour period. 

Due to legal restrictions, Pseudoephedrine containing products are limited to a total of 720mg. Products that contain Pseudoephedrine cannot be purchased at the same time as Ephedrine containing products.

Ingredients/Specifications

Active ingredients: Ibuprofen 200 mg and Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride 30 mg per tablet.

Other ingredients are: Maize starch, pregelatinised maize starch, croscarmellose sodium, colloidal silicon dioxide, sodium lauryl sulphate, stearic acid, sucrose, microcrystalline cellulose, carnauba wax, shellac, iron oxide (E172), povidone, acetylated monoglyceride, titanium dioxide (E171), methyl hydroxybenzoate (E218), propyl hydroxybenzoate (E216) and sodium hydroxide.

How to take

For oral use only. Do not exceed the recommended dose listed below. Use the medicine for the shortest duration and at the lowest effective dose to alleviate symptoms. Consume with a glass of water. Not for children under 15 years: Do not administer to children under 15. For adults and children 15 years and older: Take one or two tablets every 4 to 6 hours. Ensure a gap of at least 4 to 6 hours between doses. Do not exceed 6 tablets in 24 hours. If symptoms persist or worsen, or if the medicine is required for more than 10 days, consult your doctor or pharmacist. In case of overdose, contact a doctor or the nearest Accident and Emergency Department, bringing this leaflet and packaging. If a dose is missed, take the next dose when needed, ensuring the last dose was at least 4 hours ago. Do not take a double dose.

Warnings

If someone has taken too many tablets, contact a doctor or go to the nearest Accident and Emergency Department, bringing this leaflet and the packaging with you. If you miss a dose, take the next one when needed, as long as it has been at least 4 hours since the last dose. Do not take a double dose. This medicine is suitable for most people, but some should not use it. If unsure, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Do not use this medicine if you have had a bad reaction (e.g., asthma, runny nose, facial swelling, rash) to ibuprofen, any other ingredients (see section 6), aspirin, or NSAID painkillers. Do not use if you are taking other painkillers (such as NSAIDs), aspirin above 75 mg daily, MAOIs for depression, decongestants, or tricyclic antidepressants. Avoid if you are in the last 3 months of pregnancy. Do not take if you have or have had heart, kidney, or liver failure, a stomach ulcer, perforation, or bleeding, closed-angle glaucoma, high blood pressure, circulatory issues, a phaeochromocytoma, or diabetes. If any of these apply, seek advice from a doctor or pharmacist before using Sudafed Sinus Pressure & Pain Tablets. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have conditions that may increase the risk of heart problems or stroke, such as diabetes, high cholesterol, smoking, or if you have or have had asthma, allergic lung diseases, liver, kidney, stomach, or bowel issues, heart disease, a stroke, thyroid disorder, or prostate problems. If you have lupus or a similar disease, sugar intolerance, are in the first 6 months of pregnancy, or are over 65, consult your doctor. Discuss with your doctor if you are taking other medicines, including low-dose aspirin, anticoagulants, diuretics, furazolidone, heart medications, antihypertensives, corticosteroids, lithium, methotrexate, zidovudine, sympathomimetic drugs, cyclosporin, mifepristone, quinolone antibiotics, SSRI antidepressants, antiplatelet drugs, or tacrolimus.
