What is the difference between Valaciclovir and Aciclovir?

Valaciclovir is a prodrug, which means that it is converted into aciclovir in the body. Aciclovir is the active ingredient in both drugs, but valaciclovir is more easily absorbed by the body. This makes valaciclovir more effective at treating herpes infections.

What should I avoid when taking Valaciclovir?

Avoid sexual contact or use a latex condom to help prevent the spread of herpes. Valaciclovir will not cure herpes, but it can lessen the symptoms of the infection. Avoid sharing towels, razors, or other personal items with someone who has herpes. Also avoid exposure to sunlight or artificial UV rays (sunlamps or tanning beds). Valaciclovir can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Wear protective clothing and use sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) when you are outdoors.

Is this medication suitable for me?

Please get in touch with a doctor if you are unsure what medication is suitable for you. You can also complete our online consultation form to check your eligibility for the product.

How is the medication delivered?

All orders placed before 14:00 from Monday to Friday will be dispatched that day. The orders are sent using 24 Hour Tracked delivery provided by Royal Mail. All our medication is packaged in plain confidential padded white or brown envelopes. This ensures that your orders are discreet, and the content of the orders will be for your eyes only.

How quickly does Valaciclovir work?

Valaciclovir typically starts working within one day, but it may take up to two days for the full effect to be seen. However, some people may not see any improvement in their symptoms for several days. If you do not see any improvement within five days, or if your symptoms get worse, be sure to contact your doctor

When is the best time to take Valaciclovir?

The best time to take Valaciclovir is at the first sign of a cold sore, typically within one day. However, you can take it anytime between the first sign of a cold sore and when the sore has completely healed.

How do I order my medication?

Some products only require an online consultation which approximately takes 1 minute to complete, enabling you to then buy the product. Other products will also require a prescription; in this case, you will need to complete the online consultation, and then one of our partner pharmacy prescribers or doctors will review the online consultation questions and approve the order for delivery if you are eligible to purchase the item.

Can I cancel or return my order?

For non-medicinal products, you are eligible to return the product within 14 days of receipt in the same packaging you received. For medicinal products, you are eligible to cancel the order only until it has been dispatched. From that point forward, you are no longer eligible to return the order.

You have the right to cancel your order for medication up to the point when your medication is dispatched.
