The Serevent Evohaler is a breath-actuated inhaler device that dispenses a long-acting bronchodilator medication called Salmeterol. This drug belongs to a class of medicines known as long-acting beta-adrenoceptor agonists (LABAs). Primarily used in the management of chronic respiratory diseases such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), Serevent Evohaler works by relaxing and opening the airways in the lungs to alleviate symptoms like wheezing, chest tightness, and shortness of breath. It's important to remember that the Serevent Evohaler is used as a preventive measure rather than a remedy for immediate relief during an acute asthma attack. The efficacy and safety of Serevent Evohaler make it a crucial component of many individuals' long-term treatment plans.

Description

Serevent Evohaler for Asthma & Breathing Problems

Asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) are conditions that primarily affect the lungs and can cause a range of breathing difficulties. Asthma often occurs after exposure to a trigger, however, it can happen randomly. Triggers may include common allergies to pollen or animal dander, infections, environmental changes or from exercise.

The Serevent Evohaler is a long-acting bronchodilator that helps to keep the airways in the lungs open. This medication is prescribed to those who have breathing problems. If you have asthma, this medication can help to prevent asthma attacks.

The Serevent Evohaler is a preventative inhaler. This is not a reliever or rescue inhaler.

What is a Serevent Evohaler and how does it work?

Serevent contains the active ingredient salmeterol which is known as a long-acting bronchodilator. A bronchodilator is a medication that relaxes the muscles in the lungs and widens the airways which aid in preventing asthma or COPD attacks as it allows for more air to pass through so that you can breathe more. This medication is intended for when breathlessness or wheezing is started to come along, not for when you are already breathless and wheezy.

Serevent Evohaler contains norflurane which makes it typically less harmful to the environment than previous inhaler models. The Serevent Evohaler may also taste slightly different from other inhalers, however, this doesn't make a difference to how your medicine works.

Is a Serevent Evohaler right for me?

If you are diagnosed with asthma, COPD or other breathing condition, you may be prescribed a Serevent Evohaler by a doctor or healthcare professional. However, it may not be suitable for you if you have the following:

Additional Information

Serevent Evohaler contains the active ingredient salmeterol, which is a type of medicine known as a long-acting beta agonist. Beta agonists are medicines that act on the body's beta receptors. They work by opening up the airways in the lungs, making it easier to breathe. Serevent Evohaler is used in adults and children aged 4 years and over. It is important that you use your Serevent Evohaler regularly even if you don't have any asthma symptoms. This will help to keep your airways open and prevent asthma attacks from happening. If you do have an asthma attack, your airways will be open if you have been using Serevent Evohaler as prescribed. You can use Serevent Evohaler with a preventer such as an inhaled corticosteroid for maximum benefit.
