Dermovate is a topical medication that contains the active ingredient clobetasol propionate. It is a potent corticosteroid that is used to treat various skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis.

How does it work?

The active ingredient in the Dermovate Cream is clobetasol propionate, a potent corticosteroid that reduces the itching, redness and pain at the application site. It also suppresses the immune response, whose over-activity can also be a cause of skin irritation. Being a potent corticosteroid, it is only available on prescription. 

Is Dermovate Cream suitable for me?

Clobetasol is an effective treatment for a variety of skin conditions, however should be avoided if the following applies:

  • If you are allergic to clobetasol or any other ingredients in the formulation
  • on infected bacterial, viral or fungal lesions
  • on acne or rosacea
  • on thinning or fragile skin
