Interactions
Topicort and other drugs may interact. Inform your doctor of all medications you are taking, including prescription, over-the-counter, illicit, recreational, herbal, nutritional, and dietary ones. Pharmacokinetics
Topicort is absorbed into the skin after topical application and changed into its active form, desoximetasone. Desoximetasone inhibits the production of inflammatory mediators by attaching to glucocorticoid receptors in the body. Additionally, it weakens the immune system.
The half-life of Topicort is about three hours. Desoximetasone and its metabolites are excreted in the urine.
