Finasteride

e.g. Cytotoxic drugs used in chemotherapy are causing your hair

e.g. Dietary problem causing your hair loss

• Finasteride is excreted in semen and use of a condom is recommended if your partner is pregnant or likely to become pregnant
• Women of childbearing age should not handle crushed or damaged propecia tablets
• Cases of male breast cancer have been reported, although this is unlikely you are recommended to regularly monitor and promptly report to your doctor any changes in breast tissue such as lumps, pain or nipple discharge
• You must stop taking Finasteride immediately if you develope depression like symptoms and should seek medical attention promptly.
• Hair regrowth may not be seen for at least 4–6 months after starting treatment
• Finasteride my cause erectile dysfunction, ejaculation problems and decreased libido and you should speak to your GP promptly if this happens.
• Sexual dysfunction (including decreased libido and erectile dysfunction) may persist even after stopping the treatment

• You will read the patient information leaflet supplied with your medication
• You will contact us and inform your GP of your medication if you experience any side effects of treatment, if you start new medication or if your medical conditions change during treatment.
• You have answered all the above questions accurately and truthfully. You understand our prescribers take your answers in good faith and base their prescribing decisions accordingly, and that incorrect information can be hazardous to your health
• You understand that whilst decisions relating to your treatment are made jointly between you and the prescriber, the final decision to issue a prescription will always be with the prescriber.
