Imigran

Imigran contains the active ingredient sumatriptan, which is used for the treatment of acute migraine symptoms such as headache with or without aura. It belongs to a group of medications called triptans.
Imigran works only when a migraine attack has started. It will not stop you from getting an attack.
What is Imigran?
Imigran is a prescription medication that is used for the treatment of acute migraine attacks. The active ingredient in these tablets is sumatriptan succinate. These tablets do not prevent migraine attacks, but they help to relieve the symptoms.
How does it work?
Sumatriptan is used for relieving symptoms of migraines. It is an active ingredient belonging to the drugs classed as 'triptans'. Sumatriptan specifically works by selectively activating certain serotonin receptors, known as 5-HT1B and 5-HT1D receptors, which are found on the blood vessels in the brain. It works by reducing the widened blood vessels
Is Imigran suitable for me?
It is useful for you to relieve a migraine or cluster headache. It is, however, not suitable if you have;
Always take Imigran exactly as prescribed by your doctor or as advised by the pharmacist.
Imigran is not recommended for children under 18 years or adults over 65 years of age.
