What is Betamethasone Cream and Ointment?

This cream contains betamethasone as the active ingredient and is a topical corticosteroid. It is effective for the treatment of psoriasis, eczema, and dermatitis. Besides the active ingredient, the cream contains white petrolatum, propylene glycol, sodium hydroxide, mineral oil, purified water, etc. Cholesterol is also added as a preservative.

How does it work?

The exact mechanism of action of corticosteroids is unclear. However, studies have suggested that steroids influence gene expression and suppress various mechanisms activated in response to inflammation. It also suppresses the hyperactive immune system, which sometimes begins attacking the body's normal cells.

Is the Betamethasone Cream and ointment suitable for me?

It is suitable for all types of skin and all ages. It is suitable if you have allergic reactions on the skin, rashes, swelling and itching as well as eczema and any other inflammatory skin conditions. However, it is not suitable for pregnant women.
