What is Colgate Duraphat?

Colgate Duraphat is a toothpaste used to prevent dental caries (tooth decay) and rot. The high fluoride content in the toothpaste has been demonstrated to be very effective in dental carries prevention. Brushing twice daily with a high-fluoride dentifrice slowed tooth decay significantly when compared to a regular toothpaste with a fluoride content of 1350ppm.  

How does it work?

The active ingredient prevents build-up of plaque which is responsible for causing dental carries. It also strengthens the enamel making it more resistant to acids. It is available in 2 strengths 2800 ppm (0.619%) and 5000ppm (1.1%). 

Is Colgate Duraphat toothpaste suitable for me?

It is suitable for adults and adolescents aged over 16 years. It may not be suitable if you have the following:

• Allergy to sodium fluoride or any other ingredients in the toothpaste
• Using other fluoride tablets, gum or chewables

• Itching
• Swelling and redness
• Allergies or hypersensitivity reactions to the formulation
