Product Description

CELLUVISC is a product that mimics tears and contains the lubricant carmellose sodium. It is used to treat the symptoms of dry eye, including discomfort, burning, irritation, and dryness, which are brought on by insufficient tear production.

Directions:
Unless your doctor or the pharmacist advised otherwise, heed these instructions.
The recommended dosage is one to two drops of CELLUVISC 4 times day, or more frequently as necessary, in the affected eye or each affected eye.
Before using CELLUVISC, contact lenses do not need to be taken out.
Before using, make sure the single-dose bottle is complete. After opening, the solution should be used right away.Do not let the single-dose container's open end touch your eye or anything else to prevent contamination. Clean your hands first use.
1. Separate the strip from one single-dose vial.
2. With the top of the single-dose container erect, twist off the top.
3. To create a pocket, gently pull the lower eyelid down. One drop should be released into each eye by turning the single-dose vial upside down and applying pressure. Your eyes should briefly blink.
Even if there is some solution remaining in the single-dose container, do not reuse it. It is crucial that you dispose of it and not keep it.

Ingredients/Specifications

The active ingredient is carmellose sodium 5 mg/ml.  The other ingredients are sodium chloride, sodium lactate, potassium chloride, calcium chloride dihydrate, magnesium chloride hexahydrate, and purified water.  Small amounts of sodium hydroxide or hydrochloric acid may be added to bring the solution to the correct pH (a measure of the acidity or alkalinity of the solution).  The ingredients and the amount used in CELLUVISC were chosen to match what appears in tears produced naturally by the eye.

You do not need to remove contact lenses before using CELLUVISC. Ensure the single-dose container is intact before use. Use the solution immediately after opening. To prevent contamination, avoid contact between the open end of the container and your eye or any other surface. Wash your hands before use. 1. Detach one single-dose container from the strip. 2. Hold the container upright and twist off the top. 3. Gently pull down the lower eyelid to create a pocket. Invert the container and squeeze to release one drop into each eye. Blink a few times. Do not reuse the single-dose container, even if some solution remains. Dispose of it immediately.

Warnings

Avoid using CELLUVISC if you are allergic to carmellose sodium or any other ingredients in the product. If you experience irritation, pain, redness, vision changes, or if your condition worsens, stop using it and consult your doctor or pharmacist. Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any other medications, including over-the-counter ones. When using other eye drops, wait at least 15 minutes before applying CELLUVISC. It is safe to use CELLUVISC during pregnancy and breastfeeding. CELLUVISC typically does not cause blurred vision, but if it does, avoid driving or operating machinery until your vision clears. If you have any questions, consult your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. Using more CELLUVISC than recommended is not harmful, but if concerned, speak with your doctor or pharmacist. If you miss a dose, apply one drop in each affected eye as soon as you remember, then continue your regular schedule. Do not use extra drops to compensate for a missed dose. For further questions, contact your doctor or pharmacist. CELLUVISC may cause side effects, though not everyone experiences them. You might feel a brief burning sensation. If this persists or if you notice any unlisted side effects, inform your doctor or pharmacist. Keep out of children's reach and sight. Store below 25°C. Do not use CELLUVISC past the expiration date on the container and carton. Dispose of used containers as household waste. Return unused containers to the pharmacist or ask for disposal instructions to protect the environment.
