Proteolytic enzymes are enzymes that break down proteins. Bromelain is derived from pineapple stem and papain from papaya fruit; serrapeptase is produced by fermentation using Serratia bacteria; nattokinase is derived from natto, the traditional Japanese fermented soybean food, with the NSK-SD form purified to remove vitamin K2. Each enzyme is listed in its own standard activity unit, so the label states potency rather than weight.
Directions
Take 2 capsules three times per day on an empty stomach, half an hour before or two hours after a meal. More may be taken as recommended by a healthcare practitioner.
