Palmitoylethanolamide is a naturally occurring fatty acid amide found in small amounts in foods such as egg yolk, peanuts and soy lecithin, and produced by the body itself. The PEA used here is derived from safflower lecithin and is ultra-micronised, meaning the particle size has been reduced to improve dispersion. Meriva is a patented curcumin phytosome from the Italian botanical company Indena, which binds turmeric curcuminoids to phosphatidylcholine from sunflower lecithin. Turmeric has been used for thousands of years in Ayurvedic tradition and Indian cooking.
