How to take

Use Aspirin exactly as your doctor prescribes. Do not adjust the dosage without your doctor's guidance. If using Aspirin for pain or fever, you can stop when symptoms improve. For other uses, such as heart or stroke prevention, continue even if you feel better, unless your doctor advises otherwise. Aspirin comes in various forms: some should be swallowed whole with water, others dissolved in water, and some can be chewed or dissolved on the tongue. Follow the instructions on the packaging. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if unsure about usage. Always take Aspirin with food or right after a meal, accompanied by a glass of water. Avoid taking it on an empty stomach.

Avoid if you have stomach ulcers, especially if you have had bleeding from one, or if you have bleeding disorders like haemophilia. Do not breastfeed while taking Aspirin. Do not give Aspirin to children under 16 without consulting a doctor. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, as Aspirin may not be suitable, particularly in the later stages of pregnancy. Notify your doctor if you have asthma or other allergies, kidney or liver disease, uncontrolled high blood pressure, or gout. If you are scheduled for surgery, including minor procedures and dental work, inform your doctor or dentist that you are using Aspirin.

Common side effects include stomach discomfort, nausea, and indigestion. To reduce these effects, take Aspirin with or immediately after food. Contact your doctor if these side effects persist or are bothersome. Aspirin may cause dizziness; avoid driving or activities requiring alertness if you feel dizzy, and inform your doctor if it continues. Rare but serious side effects include swelling of the face, eyes, or lips, rashes, breathlessness, ringing in the ears, unusual bleeding or bruising, and black, sticky stools.

Do not take other pain or fever medications without consulting your doctor or pharmacist. Inform your doctor if you are taking blood thinners like warfarin, mood medications such as venlafaxine, sertraline, paroxetine, citalopram, fluoxetine, or methotrexate. Always inform your doctor or pharmacist about any other medications you are taking, including herbal products, supplements, and over-the-counter drugs. Avoid alcohol. Store in a cool, dry place out of children's reach. Do not use past the expiry date.
