What is the Betnovate Scalp Application?
Betnovate Scalp Application is a prescription scalp preparation used to relieve the symptoms of seborrheic dermatitis, eczema and psoriasis on the scalp. Its active ingredient is the corticosteroid Betamethasone valerate (0.1%), which has anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties.
How does it work?
It should be applied to the affected area showing the signs, e.g. itching, redness etc. Betamethasone is a very potent steroid that relieves pain and inflammation more effectively than the commonly used treatments. It is absorbed locally and causes the blockage of some mediators of the inflammatory process.
Is the Betnovate Scalp Application suitable for me?
This application should not be used routinely. If the skin is dry, you should use emollients or moisturizers too. Only the adults over 18 who are showing the signs should use it. Do not use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Before using it, remove the dirt and oil from the hair. It is inflammable; never use a heat hairdryer before applying it.
