Product Description

Surprising nicotine cravings are successfully relieved by NiQuitin Mint Lozenges, and their effects last even after they have been consumed. When regularly used, they give your body therapeutic nicotine, assisting you in reducing the number of cigarettes you smoke or quitting entirely.

Take NiQuitin lozenges if cravings strike suddenly. The mint-flavored lozenges provide relief from cigarette cravings and withdrawal symptoms by reducing your need for nicotine.

If you smoked one or two cigarettes during your NiQuitin Lozenge treatment programme but still wish to quit, you can continue taking the lozenges as usual. Set a new quit date if you have resumed smoking and try again when you are ready. Or, if stopping up immediately seems like too large a step for you, use the lozenges to help you cut back on how many cigarettes you smoke before giving up altogether.

Warning:
• Use only if you are at least 12 years old and are not a smoker or only smoke occasionally.
• Don't keep things above 25 degrees
• Do not take more than 15 lozenges per day.
• Never swallow full while chewing.

How to take

Usage Instructions: NiQuitin 4 mg Mint or Original Lozenges are intended for smokers who have their first cigarette within 30 minutes of waking. NiQuitin 2 mg Mint or Original Lozenges are for those who smoke their first cigarette after 30 minutes of waking. Place one lozenge in the mouth and let it dissolve, moving it occasionally from one side to the other until fully dissolved (about 20-30 minutes). Do not chew or swallow the lozenge whole. Avoid eating or drinking while the lozenge is in the mouth. Behavioral therapy, advice, and support can enhance success rates.

Adults (18+): Aim to quit smoking entirely while using NiQuitin Mint or Original Lozenges.

Recommended Treatment Plan:
- Step 1 (Weeks 1-6): 1 lozenge every 1-2 hours
- Step 2 (Weeks 7-9): 1 lozenge every 2-4 hours
- Step 3 (Weeks 10-12): 1 lozenge every 4-8 hours

During weeks 1-6, use at least 9 lozenges daily, not exceeding 15 per day. To maintain a smoke-free status after 12 weeks, use 1-2 lozenges per day only when strongly tempted to smoke. If using lozenges beyond 9 months, seek additional guidance from a healthcare professional.

Warnings

The risks of using Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) are generally much lower than the dangers of continued smoking. Patients hospitalized for heart attack, severe heart rhythm issues, or stroke who are not stable should try to quit smoking using non-drug methods. If these methods fail, NiQuitin Mint or Original Lozenges may be considered, but due to limited safety data for this group, they should only be started under medical supervision. After hospital discharge, patients can use NRT as usual.

Diabetes Mellitus: Patients with diabetes should closely monitor blood sugar levels when starting NRT, as nicotine can affect carbohydrate metabolism.

Allergic reactions: Risk of angioedema and hives.

A healthcare professional should assess risks and benefits for patients with the following conditions:

Renal and hepatic impairment: Use cautiously in patients with moderate to severe liver or severe kidney impairment, as nicotine clearance may be reduced, increasing adverse effects.

Phaeochromocytoma and uncontrolled hyperthyroidism: Use cautiously as nicotine can release catecholamines.

GI disease: Swallowed nicotine may worsen symptoms in patients with esophagitis, gastric or peptic ulcers. Use oral NRT preparations cautiously. Ulcerative stomatitis has been reported.

Danger in small children: Nicotine doses tolerated by adults and adolescents can be highly toxic and potentially fatal to small children. Keep nicotine products out of children's reach.

Stopping smoking: Quitting smoking may slow the metabolism of certain drugs, leading to increased blood levels.

Transferred dependence: Rare and less harmful than smoking dependence.

Phenylketonuria: NiQuitin Mint or Original Lozenges contain phenylalanine, which may be harmful to people with phenylketonuria.

Sodium content: Each lozenge contains 15 mg of sodium. Consider this for low-sodium diets.
