Tadalafil

Always take Tadalafil exactly as prescribed by your doctor or advised by the pharmacist. The recommended starting dose is 10mg (for when required tablet) and 5mg (for daily dose tablet), however, in presence of other factors, this may be increased or decreased accordingly as per the prescriber's clinical judgement.

• Tadalafil 10mg: one 10mg tablet at least 30 minutes before sexual activity.
• If needed, dose can be increased to 20mg (2 tablets) as a single dose. 
• Maximum one dose (20mg) in 24 hours (effects can last up to 36 hours). 
• Swallow whole with water
• Do not take medicine more than once a day.
• Tadalafil 10mg and 20mg are not recommended for continuous daily use.

Once a day dosing of Tadalafil tablets may be prescribed for men who anticipate having sexual activity two or more times per week. These daily doses can allow you to obtain an erection (when sexually aroused) at any time during the 24 hours of the day. 

If you are taking a frequent dose of Tadalafil, e.g. at least twice a week, your doctor may instruct you to take a lower dose (2.5mg or 5mg) once daily. This dose should be taken at approximately the same time of day. 

• Tadalafil 2.5mg: 1 or 2 tablets daily at the same time of day. 
• Tadalafil 5mg: 1 tablet daily at the same time a day
• This can take 2-3 days for effects to start. 
• Swallow whole with water. 
• Do not take tablets more than once a day.

Only 1 dose of Tadalafil should be taken in 24 hours. The effect of this medicine may be effective for 36 hours after taking the initial dose.

Tadalafil may not be safe if taken with other medication or recreational drugs. Please inform the prescriber if you are taking any of the listed medications or have any of the following conditions:

DO NOT take Tadalafil:

• If you've ever had an allergic reaction to Tadalafil or any other ingredients listed in this medicine
• If you are taking medicines called nitrates for angina (chest pain) or amyl nitrates (poppers)
• If you are taking riociguat
• If you are taking any alpha-blockers such as Doxazosin, Tamsulosin 
• If you are taking medications to treat high blood pressure
• If you are taking a 5 - alpha reductase inhibitor used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia
• If you are taking medicines such as ketoconazole tablets and protease inhibitors used for the treatment of fungal infections, AIDs and HIV 
• If you are taking anticonvulsant medicines, such as phenobarbital, phenytoin and carbamazepine
• If you are taking anti-fungal or antibiotics such as rifampicin, erythromycin , clarithromycin or itraconazole.
• If you are taking other ED medications
