Apply a thin strip of ointment, about half an inch (1 centimeter), in each eye as needed: Rotate the cap counterclockwise to open. Wash and dry your hands thoroughly before use. Remove the outer cap. If you wear contact lenses, take them out. Tilt your head back and look upward. Gently pull down the lower eyelid to create a small pocket. Hold the tube with your thumb and middle finger, turn it upside down near the eye, and avoid touching the eye with the nozzle. Squeeze the tube to release a thin strip of ointment, or as directed by your healthcare provider. Blink a few times. If you miss the eye, apply another strip. Gently wipe away any excess ointment with a tissue. Repeat for the other eye if needed. Replace the outer cap, avoiding contact with the applicator tip. Wait at least 30 minutes before using any other eye medications.
