Description
What is Nexium Control?
Nexium Control is a medication used for the treatment of symptoms of acid reflux, e.g., acid regurgitation and heartburn in adults.
How does it work?
The active agent esomeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor. It decreases the acid production in the stomach and reduces acid reflux. Acid reflux is the flow of acid from the stomach to the food pipe, leading to a painful chest and local inflammation.
Is Nexium Control suitable for me?
It is suitable for you if you are 18 years or older and have acid reflux symptoms. It is, however, not suitable if you are allergic to the drug or other ingredients in the tablets and consult the doctor if you are 55 years old or taking other drugs.

Frequently Asked Questions
How should Nexium Control tablets be stored?
Store them in their original packing, away from direct heat or sunlight. The temperature of the storage place should not exceed 30C and keep them out of sight and reach of children.
Can a breastfeeding mother use Nexium Control?
If your baby is healthy, there is no issue with using it during breastfeeding. Only a small amount of the drug passes to the breast milk, and even a smaller amount will be absorbed into the baby's circulation. So, there is little to worry about.
Is Esomeprazole same as Omeprazole?
Both drugs belong to the same class of drugs and have similar properties. However, there are some differences in their chemical structure.
Can I use Nexium Control during pregnancy?
Little safety information is available about its use in pregnancy. Therefore, its use should be avoided. The doctor may ask you to use a similar drug, Omeprazole, which is known to be safe during pregnancy.
Does Nexium Control influence fertility?
There is no evidence that it influences fertility in men and women. However, talk to your doctor if you are planning for pregnancy.
Can Nexium Control be used in children?
Yes. It is suitable for children above 1 year of age under the guidance of a doctor. It should, however, not be used in babies under 1 year.
