Chlamydia
Chlamydia is a common sexually transmitted infection (STI). If left untreated, over a period of time, a chlamydia infection can result in dangerous health conditions. Chlamydia is also highly transmissible therefore if you have an infection without knowing you are putting your sexual partners at considerable risk.
Trichomoniasis
Trichomoniasis is an STI that is caused by a parasite known as Trichomonas Vaginalis. This STI is transmitted by way of unprotected sex and most often, will not present any symptoms in males and to an extent, females. The noticeable symptoms are vaginal discharge in women, bleeding after sex or itchiness in the vaginal area.
Syphilis
Syphilis is one of the most common Sexually Transmitted Diseases. It is a bacterial infection that results after having contact with an infected person through intercourse or through the placenta, from a mother to a foetus (congenital). Noticeable symptoms start to manifest three weeks after contracting the infection, and they are very fluctuating in nature. Congenital syphilis brings a lot of complications for the unborn foetus. The test looks for antibodies that are released by the body upon infection. Syphilis is hard to detect because the symptoms could disappear after a few days and the final stage of the disease brings forth a lot of complications pertaining to other organs of the body.
Gonorrhoea
Gonorrhoea is caused by Neisseria gonorrhoea bacteria. The test will check for Neisseria Gonorrhoea via a urine sample by detecting minimal amounts of Neisseria gonorrhoea genetic material in the sample. Our test is extremely sensitive and can detect extremely minimal quantities of the bacteria's DNA with great accuracy.
HIV
HIV 1 and 2 are two strains of the human immunodeficiency virus. HIV 1 is the most common form of the virus and is responsible for the majority of HIV infections worldwide. HIV 2 is less common and is primarily found in West Africa. Both virus strains can lead to acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). AIDS is a condition that weakens the immune system, making the person infected susceptible to other infections and illnesses, which can be deadly.
Hepatitis B
Hepatitis B antibodies are proteins that the body produces in response to the hepatitis B virus. There are two types of hepatitis B antibodies: HBsAb and HBeAb. HBsAb, also known as surface antibodies, develop after a person is infected with the virus and typically remain in the body for life. HBsAb provides protection against future infection with the virus.
