Suprax

Cefixime, found in Suprax, is a type of antibiotic. By combating bacteria in your body, it works. Suprax is prescribed to treat a wide range of bacterial infections. For viral infections (such as the common cold or flu), this medication is ineffective. This article serves as information for Welzo users to better understand 5-HTP.

Side Effects

Suprax side effects could be unnecessary or unwanted. These consist of:

mild abdominal pain and diarrhea;

headache and fatigue

or vaginal discharge or itching

rash.

Inform your doctor or pharmacist as soon as possible if any of these side effects persist or get worse.

Suprax should only be used to treat or prevent infections that are known to be caused by bacteria, or for which there is a high probability, in order to prevent the emergence of drug-resistant bacteria and preserve the efficacy of Suprax and other antibacterial medications.

Dosage and administration

Cefixime is typically taken 400 mg once daily. 800 mg may be required as a higher dose for some infections. The 400-mg tablet should be swallowed whole with a glass of water rather than being chewed or crushed.

You can take cefixime with or without food. Your body will absorb less of the medication if you take it with food. Cefixime must be taken on a regular basis to be most effective. Antacids shouldn't be consumed two hours before or after taking cefixime.

Your doctor may perform a test on you if you are taking cefixime to prevent gonorrhea to make sure you do not also have syphilis, another sexually transmitted disease.

To take cefixime suspension

Use the syringe or measuring spoon that came with the medicine. If you are unsure of how to measure your dose, ask your pharmacist for assistance.

Before each dose, give the bottle a good shake.

By turning the cap while applying pressure, you can open the bottle.

To take the medication orally, open the capsule and dispense the medication into 2.5 mL of water. Stir this concoction and consume it all at once. Add a little more water to the same glass, give it a gentle swirl, and then immediately sip to ensure you've consumed the entire dose.

The 200 mg oral suspension capsule contains about 125 mg of cefixime as cefixime trihydrate.
