Chlamydia is usually passed on during unprotected sex (sex without a condom). It can be passed on through vaginal, anal or oral sex. You can get chlamydia by having sexual contact with someone who already has it.

You can also get chlamydia if you share sex toys with someone who has the infection.

The main cause of chlamydia is having unprotected sex with someone who has the infection.
