Side Effects
If you experience any of the following symptoms of an allergic reaction, seek immediate medical attention: hives; trouble breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Call your doctor right away if you experience any of the following symptoms: watery or bloody diarrhea; stomach pain or cramping; blood in your urine; kidney problems resulting in infrequent or painful urination; ankle or foot swelling; or feelings of exhaustion or shortness of breath. Headaches, mild diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting are examples of common side effects. There may be additional side effects; this is not a comprehensive list. contact your physician for medical advise.
Dosage
Cefzil can be taken by adults in doses of 250 mg to 500 mg twice daily.Pediatric patients typically receive 10 mg/kg (up to 500 mg) twice daily.
Interactions
Cefzil might interact with different drugs.Inform your doctor about all prescription, over-the-counter, and dietary supplements you are taking.Cefzil should only be taken during pregnancy if it has been prescribed.This drug is excreted in breast milk.Before breastfeeding, speak with your doctor.
Mechanism of Action
Cefzil functions by preventing the synthesis of bacterial cell walls.The bacteria die as a result of this.
Pharmacokinetics
Cefzil is quickly absorbed after being taken orally.Within one to two hours, the mean peak serum concentration is reached.Body fluids and tissues contain a lot of cefzil.18–37% of proteins bind to other proteins.Cefzil is primarily excreted as an unchanged drug in the urine.Cefzil has a half-life of 1 to 2 hours in adults with healthy renal function.
