Noriday as a Contraception
Noriday is a contraceptive pill known as a progestogen-only birth control pill, POP or mini-pill. Noriday helps to prevent pregnancy and can alleviate symptoms of menstruation. This is a 28-day birth control pill that can be over 99% successful at preventing pregnancy when taken correctly.
Progesterone-only pills are a suitable alternative for people who cannot take oestrogen such as when breastfeeding, if you smoke or if you are overweight.
What is Noriday and how does it work?
Noriday is a POP that contains the active substance norethisterone which works to prevent pregnancy by thickening the mucus in the womb, making it more difficult for sperm to travel through to the womb, changing the lining of the womb and it can also stop the release of an egg from the ovaries.
The pill contains synthetic progesterone which is a hormone produced by the body. Noriday works by altering the hormonal balance of the body to prevent ovulation.
Noriday is not intended to be used by those who are pregnant or intend to become pregnant.
